Our prices now include excise duties: no more surprises at checkout

You’ve probably seen it before: a pod listed at $18.99 on the product page, then $32.43 once in your cart. The difference is the federal and provincial excise duty that the law imposes on every vaping product. It was never optional, but it only showed up at the very end.

Not anymore. Starting today, every price displayed on Jean Cloud Vape includes excise duties. The price you see is the real price of the product. Only sales taxes are added at checkout.

Am I paying more?

No. Your order total doesn’t change: we simply show the excise duties on the product page instead of adding them in the cart. A product that cost $18.99 + $13.44 excise is now displayed at $32.43, excise included. It’s exactly the same amount.

What changes, in practice

• On product and category pages: the displayed price is marked “excise incl.”
• Below the price: a box shows the exact federal and provincial duty included.
• In your cart: every amount includes excise. Below the subtotal, we simply show the federal and provincial excise portion.

What about promotions?

Our promotions and coupon codes keep working as before, on the product price. Excise duties are set by law and cannot be discounted. In practice, a 30% coupon on a 30 mL bottle at $29.99 + $15.68 excise saves you $9.00, exactly as before.

Your loyalty points and the free shipping threshold are also calculated as before, on the product price.

Why this change?

Because a price should be clear at first glance. Comparing, choosing and budgeting shouldn’t require a calculator, or discovering the real price at the last step. Showing the real price is the simplest way to respect our customers.
