Important: New Tax on Vaping Products Starting July 2024
Dear customers,
We would like to inform you of an important change that will soon impact the purchase of your favorite nicotine-containing vaping products. On May 8th, the federal government confirmed that the harmonization of the Provincial Excise Tax has received royal assent and will come into effect on July 1, 2024. This new regulation will affect the provinces of Quebec and Ontario, as well as the territories of Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.
What does this mean for you?
Until September 30, 2024, online stores and physical storefronts will be able to sell through their current stock marked with the federal excise stamp. A transition period will be in place with the old and new tax policies during the summer of 2024. After this date, all products manufactured and intended for sale in these regions will need to bear a tax stamp specific to the province or territory at the point of final sale.
How to prepare?
If you wish to purchase products before September 30, we encourage you to plan your purchases accordingly, as after this date, we will be obliged to sell only products with the new taxation.
Impact on prices:
Starting October 1, 2024, all products offered for retail sale in the affected provinces will need to carry the provincial tax stamp. As a result, the tax rate will double from its current value. Here are the new tax rates for some common products:
2 mL Pre-filled Pods: from $3.00 to $6.00
30mL Bottle of Eliquid: from $7.00 to $14.00
60mL Bottle of Eliquid: from $10.00 to $20.00
100mL Bottle of Eliquid: from $14.00 to $28.00
120mL Bottle of Eliquid: from $16.00 to $32.00
We understand that these changes may affect the way you purchase your vaping products, and we are here to help you navigate this transition. For any questions or assistance needed, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service.
We appreciate your understanding and loyalty.
